Sonic 2 Delta is, without a doubt, one of the most ambitious ROM hacking projects ever made. At a time when the Sonic Community struggled with hex editing to edit ROMs, Esrael G. Neto came out of nowhere with Sonic 2 Delta and shocked everyone with astounding technical feats, such as restoring deleted levels, enemies and prototype elements. The project has come a long way and may seem unimpressive for today's standards, but the fact still remains that Sonic 2 Delta is the ROM hack that officially put advanced Sonic editing on the map.
