Happy 2006! drx (Jan 01 2006, 10:28 AM)
Happy new year =)

I hope the 2006 will be even better than 2005 for our community.

Just a small update - added the legendary Sega2f document, the official information about Sega Megadrive and the 32x SDK - official dev kit for 32x programmers. Both can be found in 68k section.

Happy New Year =P

I've got something coming up in my hack that you might like drx. It's a sort of publicity thing, which Hacking Cult and SSRG will hopefully benefit from. Hopefully I should be able to make a private release within the next couple of months. As for a public release, who knows what this year will hold.

On a side note, the community hacking guide will be getting a pretty big update soon. Basically, it'll be a location list for S2, listing where everything I know is (objects, art, palettes, important routines etc)

The 32X Dev kit? How on EARTH did you get that?!

Oh well, either way it could help ROM hackers everywhere now. (Including myself where as I'm hoping to to add Sonic to the Chaotix cast w/out removing Mighty. ;) )

A word of warning about Sega2f: It has several mistakes. Part of the layout of the VDP status register is incorrect, for instance.

Charles MacDonald's VDP doc is much more useful and detailed.
A mistake in Sega2f?
No way! I've tried using it for something1 It sort of nearly worked... Sort of.

Sonic-Boy (Jan 28 2006, 01:08 PM)
....OK I GIVE!!!!!! IT SCREWED UP EVERYTHING!!!!
Someone REALLY needs to fix that mistake in Sega2f before it ever gets used again.... I nearly lost something when I tried to use it..... I keeled over!

SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR FUCK SAKE!

This is for comments on his work and what he's released. It's NOT for nitpicking at little details created by Sega when they handed out their tech docs. If you wanna take it out on someone, take it out on Sega. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't just fuck up when trying to use it, coz the mistakes aren't that bad.
