A working Chaotix Art Editor. drx (Jul 27 2006, 05:53 PM)
At last.

JJFTails done what I should have ages ago and big kudos to him for that. Check out his Chaotix Art Editor in the utils section.

I would also like to use this newspost to remind some people that ROM hacking is about having fun and learning new things, not being envious, nor aggressive about your/others work. It's a hobby, and it doesn't matter how much ASM can a person hack or how awesome his graphics are, it's the work, progress, and most importantly, fun, that matters.

To cut a long story short: hacking is supposed to be fun, not a subject of stupid flamewars etc. I hope you agree with me on that matter.

JJFTails (Jul 27 2006, 06:35 PM)
Thx man. Do me a quick favor though. The version you have has a little error that would only allow it to work with my windowsblind theme and themes that were similar to it. Replace the this version with the old one in the utils section: http://rapidshare.de/files/27264768/CHAOXED.rar.html

drx (Jul 27 2006, 06:48 PM)
fixed

Meh (Jul 27 2006, 11:28 PM)
If hacking is supposed to be fun, than why do you underrate Sonic i n Paynt? You sure started a flame on that!

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 28 2006, 09:47 AM)
You kidding?? That hack was both hilarious and ugly at the same time! It seemed like Green Hill was Circus Hill on my emulator and at the same time I had to wear sunglasses indoors.. but as the creator once said; "I'm good at being bad." And that is SO true. He did something similar in a Sonic 2 hack of his... Sonic and Tails in Paynt I think it's name was... he gave Sonic some of Tails' hair to add some style but it didn't really turn out great, and I died on nearly every level with those hard to survive layouts.

drx (Jul 28 2006, 11:16 AM)
hah! first, it wasn't me who rated Sonyc in Paynt. But seriously, that game deserves that score. It's hilarious! :D

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 28 2006, 12:06 PM)
Agreeable drx, VERY agreeable.

Meh (Jul 28 2006, 02:07 PM)
The only level that was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to beat was the remake of Mystic Caves cuz I couldn't see shit XD <br> <br>And what is with "Super Milk" Zone? O.O

Meh (Jul 28 2006, 02:09 PM)
And what was TOTALLY annoying was that all the levels had the same music from Hidden Palace.

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 28 2006, 04:22 PM)
Super Milk? I think it was supposed to be Super Mushroom like in the Mario games. XD Really... just some Mushroom Hill ports, a good pallet, some Mario music and there you have it.

Meh (Jul 29 2006, 11:51 AM)
Trust me. It was Super Milk. I'm sorry but that's just whack XD

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 29 2006, 12:31 PM)
Wacky as whack.. and over the edge wierd.. or so it may seem... I could make use of the name but not exactly in a rom hack.

Meh (Jul 29 2006, 12:35 PM)
I seriously couldn't get past the Mystic Caves remake. It was all f***ing black.

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 29 2006, 02:54 PM)
I saw what you mean.. Dark City if you ask me.

Meh (Jul 29 2006, 11:22 PM)
I like seizure collabs cuz I like to challenge my eyes. Never look at the sun though XP

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 30 2006, 01:01 AM)
Unfortunately I was foolish enough to stare at the sun at school.. afterwards everything seemed.. pink.

Meh (Jul 30 2006, 10:49 AM)
YOU DUMBASS! Seriously why would you do that T_T

Mr.Chaotix (Jul 30 2006, 01:39 PM)
Eh. I was young. Stupid at the time. Had no idea what the sun WAS for that fact.

Meh (Jul 30 2006, 04:51 PM)
anybody know ringmanx? He's got a great site: http://www.geocities.com/pharaohmanx/ChaosEmer.html

JJFTails (Aug 01 2006, 07:40 PM)
Haha. That site is so funny. The guy refers to them as "Alpha Version" and "Beta Versions A, B, and C". Those are so obviously hacks it's not even funny.

Meh (Aug 01 2006, 10:58 PM)
You never know, asshole

Weird Person (Aug 02 2006, 03:41 PM)
Who said the hacking-cult's message board is gone? Take a look at this!

Meh (Aug 02 2006, 05:32 PM)
LOL I know what you mean. I just realised something if you go to Gens and set to "Skip frame 8" or something you can somewhat get around the lag in the Sonic 1 Alpha hack.

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 02 2006, 06:43 PM)
Didn't know that I've always used the Turbo Mode option in Gens+.

Meh (Aug 02 2006, 11:55 PM)
I once set it to "Skip frame 8". Know what happened? Let's just say that instead of 10 minutes, I had ten <i>seconds</i>

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 03 2006, 11:42 AM)
Frame rate must have been abusing the game timer. Last time I tried that I STILL had 10 minutes.

Meh (Aug 04 2006, 12:32 AM)
I just now found the emulators in the Utilities section. Thanks for putting those up! <br> <br>BTW, is it possible to save a screenshot as a GIF file?

Meh (Aug 06 2006, 06:37 PM)
ATTENTION <br> <br>The ratings for some of the hacks were...uh....hacked? lol. Not a real emergency but WTF?

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 06 2006, 07:37 PM)
Very funn- *stabbed*

Meh (Aug 06 2006, 10:18 PM)
The last two Sonic 2 hacks have weird looking guest ratings O_o

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 07 2006, 12:10 AM)
Just checked and I now ask "WTF?"

Meh (Aug 07 2006, 08:10 PM)
You see it, too? WTF indeed

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 08 2006, 12:21 AM)
Now how it happened to get that way is anyones guess.

Meh (Aug 08 2006, 09:21 PM)
Maybe they've been...hacked? XD

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 09 2006, 01:00 AM)
Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, maybe it's just some site bug, maybe it's.. nah, you probably wouldn't want to hear my last explanation. (It's disgusting anyways..)

StephenUK (Aug 11 2006, 05:10 PM)
I'd like to request that my hack is removed from the list please.

Meh (Aug 11 2006, 08:03 PM)
Well that sucks did you give up on it?

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 11 2006, 11:10 PM)
Might not be best to ask him. He's had people badgering him about it already!

Meh (Aug 13 2006, 08:54 PM)
Congrats, it's gone. A shame, I thought it would be fun in the final version =(

StephenUK (Aug 17 2006, 07:32 AM)
I don't remember saying that I wasn't still working on it.

Meh (Aug 17 2006, 06:52 PM)
Oh... <br> <br>Damn that changes everything XD

Meh (Aug 17 2006, 08:02 PM)
41 fucking comments...a new record

Mr.Chaotix (Aug 17 2006, 08:18 PM)
(Make that 42.) I think it's cause of those odd guest ratings. I'll bet you that simple ASM hack is probably going to get removed because of the same reason.

Meh (Aug 25 2006, 10:16 PM)
43 comments...sickass...

Meh (Aug 27 2006, 07:28 PM)
Odd guest ratings are fixed! Cool...

Mr.Chaotix (Sep 05 2006, 07:39 AM)
Fixed? Finally.. on the previous subject of "Super Milk", does this spark any ideas for a new power up item? (Sonic RPG anyone? *shot*)
